Introduction
Welcome to Slice. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how One Bright Studio ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Slice mobile application (the "App").
Slice does not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, or other contact details to play.
Information We Collect
1. Information You Provide
- Support Requests: If you contact us by email or through our website, we collect the information you include in your message.
2. Gameplay Data (Stored on Your Device and in Your iCloud)
- Progress: Your stars, daily puzzle results, streak, streak freezes, puzzles in progress, and settings (such as your reminder time) are saved on your device.
- iCloud Sync: If you are signed in to iCloud, this progress is also stored in your private iCloud key-value storage so it can sync between your devices. This data is held by Apple in your iCloud account; we cannot access it.
- Reminders: Daily reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. No notification data is sent to us.
3. Game Center
If you are signed in to Apple Game Center, your daily puzzle score, best streak, and achievements are submitted to Game Center and may be visible to other players according to your Game Center settings. Game Center is operated by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.
4. Analytics and Diagnostics (Google Firebase)
- Usage Analytics (Firebase Analytics): How the App is used — for example levels started and completed, daily puzzle results, streak events, reminder opt-ins, and whether rewarded ads were offered or watched — together with an app instance identifier, device model, operating system and app version, and approximate location (country or region) derived from your IP address.
- Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics): Crash logs, stack traces, and the device state at the time of a crash, so we can find and fix bugs.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Slice shows rewarded ads only, and only when you choose to watch one (for example to get an extra life, a streak freeze, or to unlock an archive puzzle). To serve and measure these ads, Google AdMob collects:
- Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) — only if you allow tracking when iOS asks
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Ad interaction data (ads shown, watched, or skipped)
- Device and diagnostic information needed to deliver ads
6. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or account details (unless you contact us).
- We do not collect precise location.
- We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or photo library.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Tracking and Your Choice
Before the first ad is shown, iOS asks whether Slice may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites (App Tracking Transparency).
- If you allow tracking, Google may use your advertising identifier to show you more relevant ads and measure their performance.
- If you ask Slice not to track, the advertising identifier is not shared and you will still see rewarded ads, which may be less relevant.
- You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
How We Use Your Information
- Game Functionality: To save and sync your progress, streaks, and settings, and to schedule reminders you ask for.
- Rewards: To deliver rewarded ads and grant the in-game reward you chose.
- Performance and Reliability: To detect crashes and fix bugs.
- Product Improvement: To understand how players use Slice and improve puzzles, difficulty, and design.
- Support: To respond to your questions and feedback.
Third-Party Services
Slice uses the following services, which process data under their own privacy policies:
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the safety and integrity of the App and its players.
Data Storage and Security
- Gameplay data is stored on your device and, if enabled, in your iCloud account.
- Analytics, crash, and advertising data is processed on Google's servers.
- Data in transit is protected using HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- We limit collection to what is needed to run, fund, and improve Slice.
Children's Privacy
Slice is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights and Choices
- Tracking: Allow or deny tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Reminders: Turn notifications on or off in the App's Settings or in iOS Settings → Notifications.
- Game Center: Sign out or adjust visibility in iOS Settings → Game Center.
- Reset Progress: Use Settings → Reset Progress in the App to clear your progress on your device and in iCloud.
- Delete the App: Removes local data from your device. iCloud data can be managed in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
- Analytics and Crash Data: Contact us to request access or deletion. Because Slice has no accounts, we may need information from your device to locate this data.
Data Retention
- Gameplay Data: Kept on your device and in iCloud until you reset progress or delete it.
- Analytics Data: Retained for no longer than 14 months at the user level, then kept only in aggregated form.
- Crash Reports: Retained for up to 90 days.
- Advertising Data: Retained by Google according to its own policies.
- Support Communications: Retained as needed to handle your request.
International Data Transfers
Apple and Google may process your data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. These providers use safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required by law.
Jurisdiction-Specific Rights
For California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. To opt out of sharing for advertising, choose "Ask App Not to Track" or turn off tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
For European Economic Area and UK Residents (GDPR/UK GDPR)
We process analytics and crash data on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and improving the App, and personalised advertising only on the basis of your consent. You may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and you may withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post updates on this page and revise the "Last Updated" date.
